ADAPT supports parents and families of premature and poorly babies needing specialist neonatal care. There is no disputing the fact that the babies get the best clinical care but for the parents it's one of the most traumatic times of their lives not knowing whether their new baby will survive, this is where the ADAPT support steps in to help them cope with their rollercoaster journey.
Affinity Trust is a registered charity and regulated by the Care Quality Commission. We support over 900 people with learning disabilities across England, enabling them to live as independently as possible. We support people with more complex needs including autism, mental health needs, and profound and multiple learning disabilities. We aim to ensure that those we support can live life to the full. Many of the people we support used to live in institutional settings, like hospitals. Supported living is our preferred model of support. We also deliver outreach, opportunities and residential services.
African Network is an organisation for Africans and those of African heritage who share and believes in the furtherance of the objectives of the Africans. Members are Africans and those of Africa heritage living in Leicester, Leicestershire & Rutland. The organisation’s primary goal is to share ideas, information and network with each all Africans. The anatomies of the organisation are to empower, support, promote and embed Africans into the mainstream services that are available as well as raised the aspirations of members and their communities to achieve their full potentials.
Afro Innovation Group aims to empower and enable asylum seekers and migrants to rebuild their lives and become an integral part of their local community. Our support includes:
Advice, advocacy and befriending to support immigration and family reunion, and enabling access to health and other mainstream services. Housing and homelessness support with local partners (Local Authorities, Health Authorities, charities and community organisations. Skills development, training and volunteering opportunities to improve employability.
After18 works with asylum-seeking and refugee young people up to the age of 25 who are living in Leicester and the surrounding area. Established in 2013, we now work with over 200 young people every year. We aim to be a consistent long-term point of reference and safe space, and to create a sense of belonging for young refugees. Led by their needs, we have evolved a specialised programme of educational and wellbeing activities to enable them to improve their educational opportunities and social support networks and build confidence in their own cultural identity.
As an Educational Charity in the Inner City, We provide free Basic Numeracy and Literacy help to adults who cannot read or write. Over 90% of the Adults who come to our venue are unemployed and cannot engage in meaningful employment due to poor Literacy Skills. These adults do not have access to an Internet connection or a home Computer. They come to our centre for advice and guidance.
Small Registered charity providing totally free accredited courses, parenting workshops, support and advice, Mental health support and in house therapist, Free pre loved "shop', sensory room, sexual health services and creche to young parents and their families, any young parents from Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland are welcome to join us.
