FAQs
The Community Assessment Day is an event at Feilding Palmer Hospital which has been organised to showcase services that can support ageing well. This includes representatives from NHS and community organisations, and an opportunity to have a health check on the day.
The Community Assessment Day will be taking place on Friday 9th October, 10am-3pm at Feilding Palmer Hospital. You are welcome to attend at any point in the day but please be aware there may be some busier times, which may result in waits to speak to staff or have a health check.
At our community events, we offer a free health check designed to provide a helpful snapshot of your current health and identify any areas where further advice or support may be beneficial.
The health check includes:
- A blood pressure check, with personalised advice and guidance based on your results.
- A heart rhythm check using a single-lead ECG device, which can help identify signs of an irregular heart rhythm such as atrial fibrillation (AF).
- Height and weight measurements to support an assessment of your general health.
- Practical lifestyle advice covering areas such as healthy eating, physical activity, weight management, smoking and alcohol consumption.
Where a result requires further attention, our team will explain the findings and advise you on the most appropriate next steps. The health check does not replace an appointment with your GP or provide a formal diagnosis, but it can help identify potential health risks and support earlier intervention.
No, the health check will not be bookable before the event. At busier times, a ticketing system may be in use. You will be welcome to visit the stalls in the Community Village whilst waiting for your health check.
