Joint Strategic Needs Assessments (JSNAs)
Joint Strategic Needs Assessments (JSNAs) analyse the health needs of populations.
Although the LLR ICB works closely with local authorities on the JSNAs, local authorities are responsible for publishing the JSNAs for their respective areas.
The purpose of the JSNA is to improve the health and wellbeing of the local community and reduce inequalities for all ages.
It should be viewed as a continuous process of strategic assessment and planning with the aim to develop local evidence-based priorities for commissioning which will improve the public’s health and reduce inequalities.

Primary Care Rebate Schemes
Primary Care Rebate Schemes (PCRS) are contractual arrangements offered by pharmaceutical or, third party companies which offer retrospective financial rebates to the NHS on GP prescribing expenditure for specific branded medicine(s). The availability of a scheme does not influence the inclusion of specific medicines in care pathways or formularies.
LLR ICB has an agreed assessment and approval process for PCRS. We are a member of PrescQIPP and refer to the reviews undertaken by PrescQIPP’s Pharmaceutical Industry Scheme Governance Review Board (PIS GRB), where available, as part of the evaluation process. We are unable to publish the full details of PCRS because this is commercially sensitive information.

Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIA)
What is a DPIA?
A DPIA is a process designed to help identify and minimise the data protection risks of a system or project. It is a key part of an organisation’s accountability obligations under the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR).
A DPIA is a living document which is subject to regular review.
When is a DPIA required?
A DPIA must be completed for any new system/project or changes to a system/project that uses personal data (information that identifies a living individual either directly or indirectly). The system/project or changes to the system/project cannot be implemented until the DPIA has been approved.
At the LLR ICB, all DPIAs require approval from the LLR ICB’s Data Protection Officer, Senior Information Risk Owner (SIRO) and / or Caldicott Guardian.
