NHS Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland has commissioned DHU Healthcare to provide a new website, which is a self-referral service aimed at children and young people (under the age of 18), as well as their parents/carers, to make it easier for them to ask for mental health information and support.
As well as enabling young people to refer themselves for mental health support without seeing a GP or healthcare professional, the website provides easy-to-understand language, information, tips and signposting to a range of resources that help children and young people to manage and take care of their mental health.
‘My Self-Referral’ is free, confidential and available 24/7.

The My Self-Referral website can be accessed via:Â www.myselfreferral-llr.nhs.uk
There are two new support services available for unpaid carers: one for residents of Leicestershire and Rutland, and the other for all unpaid carers in England.
(Leicester City residents are encouraged to access the Leicester Carers Support Service).
Online support service for unpaid carers in Leicestershire and Rutland
The NHS in Leicestershire and Rutland has partnered with Mobilise to offer a new digital support service for unpaid carers. Working with Leicestershire County Council and Rutland County Council, we hope the service will provide carers with an easy way to get support that meets their needs.
Mobilise will work alongside the existing support provided by Voluntary Action South Leicestershire (VASL) and Rutland Carer Support Service to offer even more online services, including website guides, regular contact through emails, guide to caring, online courses, ‘virtual cuppas’ and even individual support calls – seven days a week.
The Mobilise service is free for residents of Leicestershire and Rutland and can be accessed by visiting:Â https://support.mobiliseonline.co.uk/leicestershire-and-rutland.

You are now able to access free training to improve your knowledge and help to care for children and young people with asthma in the best way possible.
The training is split into four tiers; the first tier targets a range of people working closely with children and young people, such as those based in schools and out of school clubs.
Currently the UK has some of highest death rates in Europe for childhood asthma and outcomes are worse for those living in the most deprived areas. Because of this, NHS England is committed to improving outcomes for children and has published the National bundle of care for children and young people with asthma to support asthma care – progress depends on improving the knowledge and skills of everyone who cares for children with asthma.
