Celebrating success at the HSJ Digital Awards 2026

Teams and partners across Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland have been recognised on the national stage this week, with multiple successes at the HSJ Digital Awards 2026, held in Birmingham.

The awards celebrate the very best in digital innovation across the NHS, recognising how technology is improving care for patients and communities.

We are proud to be part of a system that continues to lead the way.

Award winners

Improving Out of Hospital Care through Digital
NHS Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland ICB was recognised for its work to use digital solutions to support care closer to home, helping people access the right care at the right time and reducing pressure on hospital services. Leicestershire Health Informatics Service (LHIS) played a key role in supporting the digital delivery and enablement of this work, contributing to the success of the Virtual Care (Doccla) programme.

Improving Mental Health through Digital
Leicestershire Partnership NHS Trust, working in partnership with Northamptonshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust, won for their work with Chat Mental Health, using digital tools to improve access and support for people experiencing mental health challenges.

Driving interoperability and digital standards across health and care
The Interweave Shared Care Record partnership was recognised for its work enabling professionals across organisations to securely access and share patient information, supporting more joined-up care.

 

Highly commended

Digital Leader of the Year (Highly Commended)
Gurnak Singh Dosanjh, Deputy Chief Clinical Information Officer at LLR ICB, was recognised for his leadership in driving digital transformation across the system.

Digital Transformation Organisation of the Year (Highly Commended)
University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust (in partnership with University Hospitals of Northamptonshire) received recognition for their work to embed digital innovation at scale.

 

What this means for our system

These national awards highlight the strength of partnership working across LLR and beyond. They demonstrate how digital innovation is already making a difference for local people by:

  • Improving access to mental health support
  • Enabling more care to be delivered at home or in communities
  • Supporting professionals with better information through shared records
  • Driving continuous improvement in how services are delivered

This recognition reflects the dedication of staff across our system and our commitment to improving care through innovation.
