We care for a 2,000-mile-long, 200-year-old, network of canals, rivers, reservoirs, and docks. We believe that life is better by water.
Our research shows that spending time by water, whether it be your lunchbreak, daily commute or just a weekend stroll, can make us feel happier and healthier.
With ever-increasing rates of obesity, stress, and declining mental health, our Waterways & Wellbeing social prescribing project supports people where they live. Our canals and rivers run through some of the most heavily populated communities in England and Wales, providing accessible green and blue space where it’s needed the most.

Home Start Horizons, is a charity delivering family support and services throughout Leicestershire & Rutland. Our unique, volunteer-led early-help, peer-support service provides family support, at home and group support in community settings, for families with a child under 5.
HSH aims to support parents in adopting positive parenting behaviours having a long-term impact on their child’s life chances, and the stability of the family unit. Our work is based on the premise that early years are critical, and that intervention during the first 1,001 days in particular is crucial for establishing positive parenting behaviours, attachments and strong parent-child bonds.
