Charity Link finds funding for local people in need who are experiencing financial hardship to provide essential items such as cookers, fridges, washing machines, beds, clothing, mobility/disability aids and in emergencies, support with food and utilities. These items improve wellbeing, dignity and standard of living and ensure that local people are independent, warm, clean, safe and fed. We work with 250 charities and community organisations to get the help to those who need it, when they need.
Charnwood and Melton Mental Health Wellbeing Service is an advice, navigation and community recovery support service.
We provide support to people with emotional or mental health needs and their carers aged 18+, promoting wellness and recovery. We are part of the NCHA group.
We collect brand new pairs of pyjamas for children and young people, aged between new-born and 18 years old. The pyjamas are distributed to hospitals, hospices, hospital at home teams and women's refuges throughout the UK. They are then given to children who are poorly or disadvantaged.
The Children’s Hospital School provides education for students who are too ill to attend their mainstream school. Our students join us following a referral supported by medical evidence. Our role is to nurture, support, educate and enable students to reintegrate as, when and if appropriate. We teach in four school bases and in children’s homes. We aim to provide outstanding education and care in partnership with other agencies.
Chiltern Music Therapy have a desire to change how music therapy is offered in the UK. CASE advisors offer mentoring and ongoing support to anyone with a passion for helping their community.
Coalville CAN is a community co-operative working across LE67, looking to create happier and healthier communities and citizen led regeneration. We take an asset-based approach working with individuals and communities to build on their strengths and passions to make a difference. We are community owned and look to take on places and spaces to be owned and run by the community. We run a creative community space, and a wide range of community led projects.
Support for People Living with Sickle Cell & Thalassemia
The overall goal of the project is to empower and comfort the disadvantaged, needy and neglected children living with sickle cell disease (SCD) and other blood related disorders in the Leicestershire region with three main objectives:
The project is targeting one thousand (1000) children living with SCD in the Leicestershire region.
To change the perception of the community of Leicestershire about sickle cell disease and eliminate stigmatization and discrimination against the children living with the disease.
To address the psychosocial needs of families and children living with sickle cell disease (SCD) and provide hope and comfort
To provide health care (treatment), education, and basic support to children living with sickle cell disease (SCD) and their families in the East Midlands.
