People are being urged to make sure their views count, as a six-week engagement into improving community health services in Hinckley and Bosworth enters its final week.

The Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland Integrated Care Board (LLR ICB) has developed proposals for the Hinckley and District Hospital site which would increase the range of services available for the local community.

Hundreds of people from the local area have already had their say on the proposed improvements and there is still time to get involved, but the closing date is only one week away, on 8 March 2023.

Helen Mather, Associate Director of Elective Care, Cancer and Diagnostics at the Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland Integrated Care Board, said: “We know that having more services provided closer to home is important for people and we have some exciting proposals which would improve community health services for people in Hinckley and the surrounding areas.”

The improvements include building a new Community Diagnostic Centre (CDC) on the Hinckley and District Hospital (Mount Road) site. This would provide a one-stop-shop for health checks, scans and tests, allowing people who have an illness or other problem, to be diagnosed closer to home without the need to travel to a large hospital further away.   It will have X-ray and ultrasound facilities, as well as providing clinical rooms for phlebotomy, endoscopy and outpatient procedures.

Helen Mather added: “We are really pleased that so many people have already looked at our proposals, asked questions and filled out a questionnaire.  It is really important that people have the opportunity to get involved and I really encourage everyone who might be affected by the proposals to have their say.  Your feedback will help us to understand what matters most to you.”

People have until 8 March 2023 to share their views and full details are available online at www.HaveYourSayHinckley.co.uk
