The Phoenix Children's Foundation was established in 2006 with the sole aim of enriching and enhancing the lives of youngsters and their families living with illness, disability or lack of opportunity. We have a forest school type area and a small menagerie of animals, ranging from donkeys and goats, to Shetland ponies and reindeer, all of whom help to fund-raise – through appearances at events – as well as provide young people with opportunities to grow emotionally and learn through Animal Assisted Activity.
Affiliated with Headway UK, Headway LLR works with Adults who have suffered a Brain Injury or Stroke and supports, signposts and advises families and carers too. We have a Day Centre, Digital Day Centre and Community Outreach Programme too.
The purpose and the charitable objects are:
a) The advancement of education, by providing community education, homework clubs and out of schools education, community awareness raising, life essential training and ESOL classes.
b) The prevention or relief of poverty, people living in the UK and Somalia by providing practical support, services and facilities. We provide advice and assistance to families and their children to improve their living conditions.
c) The provision of facilities for recreation or leisure time occupation in the interests of social welfare with the object of improving their conditions of life.
