The Baldwin Trust is a volunteer run charity providing small group, fully crewed narrowboat trips along the scenic and tranquil Leicestershire waterways. We've been operating for 40 years. Our two boats are located at Barrow Boating (Barrow upon Soar) and Leicester Marina (Thurmaston) and have ramps and lifts for easy boarding, so no stairs. Each boat can carry up to 12 passengers, with a maximum of 4 wheelchair users per boat and have spacious cabins, kitchen galley and toilet onboard. We operate 7 days a week from 1 April to 31 October (river levels permitting).
The Bridge have been working to address homelessness within our community since 1993. We deliver specialist housing related advice, support, and assistance services, as well as accommodation options to homeless and vulnerably housed people across Leicester, Leicestershire, and Rutland.
Our mission is to develop sustainable housing solutions for individuals and communities through partnership, empowerment, and good practice. Homelessness is a complex and individualistic issue. We work closely with local authorities and partner organisations to understand and address the root causes, prevent homelessness for those at risk, and offer care and support to people experiencing homelessness.
The Centre Project is a local charity working with single, vulnerable and socially isolated people. We aim to reduce isolation and promote wellbeing and greater inclusion in the wider community.
