Move against Cancer has three main branches :An FREE 8 week online exercise program with Cancer Rehabilitation exercise specialists for youngsters aged 13-30 yearsA 5k Your Way Move against Cancer program that is nationwide to encourage individuals impacted by Cancer to walk, jog, run or cheer together in local parks on the last Saturday of a month to encourage individuals to move more.The provision of a free library of movement videos on our website
PYCA was established in 1993 and situated at 58 Earl Howe Street, Leicester.
PYCA provides educational, leisure, advisory and support services to the wider local community in Leicester. Our training programme covers a wide variety of accredited as well as non-accredited courses.
PYCA’s importance in the community was acknowledged in 2014 by the local authority who transferred their building asset to the charity as part of the Asset Transfer Scheme.
We are an approved Training Centre by University of Cambridge, OCR and NOCN.
Founded nearly 30 years ago, Warriors is a community-led sports club providing basketball, health, and well-being activities for young people in Leicester. We focus on engaging those from deprived communities, particularly inner-city estates that are home to BAMER groups. Born from community demand, the club offers an outlet, support, and a sense of belonging for young people.
The Sikh Community Centre is a local voluntary organisation that was formed in 1992 to meet the basic needs of the local community. We have been providing a basic service which has been sufficient; for individuals with learning disabilities, ESOL classes, child care service and social activities etc. The Sikh Community Centre sees approximately 8,000 people annually for varying levels of support. The need for information advice and guidance in areas of welfare, immigration advice and English language skills is continuously growing with the population of Leicester City being the most diverse across the country.
BrightSparks Arts supports people who use mental health services to develop confidence, skills, creativity and a sense of community through workshops, projects, publications, exhibitions and performances led by professional artists and mental health professionals.
The Peace Centre is a community-based charity rooted in Islamic values, offering inclusive support to individuals and families. We provide essential services such as a food bank, autism club, youth programmes, and faith-based counselling. Our focus is on mental well-being, family support, and community resilience through education, mentoring, and practical help.
Bharat Sports Club is Leicester’s oldest minority-led cricket club. We have over 90 members, with three senior mens teams, a women's team and youth boys and girls teams. At the heart of our work is a commitment to empowering young people and underrepresented communities, particularly those from Black, Asian, and Minority Ethnic backgrounds - we are currently expanding our youth and women’s cricket programmes not just to improve technical cricket skills, but to build confidence, resilience, and ambition—especially among girls and young women who face cultural, social, or economic barriers to participation.
While part of a national charity, the Leicester branch tailors its work to local needs through inclusive, culturally aware initiatives. We support vulnerable communities, promote mental health awareness, reduce pressure on A&E by improving access to alternatives, and foster global giving through local fundraising. In 2025, our “Eid Smile Fund” raised over £1,000 for aid in Bangladesh. We partner with local organisations for health events, awareness days, and youth volunteering. Our work empowers residents, builds resilience, and strengthens service access—always with transparency, accountability, and strong community collaboration at the heart of what we do.
AAA Foundation delivers intervention and prevention workshops and events working with children and young people up to the age of 25yrs old. It is a platform used to empower supporting families providing resources to help build resilience and life skills which includes wellbeing looking at triggers thoughts affecting and preventing positive stimuli for healthy growth offering safe spaces and safe professional mentoring support
We make and share resources and training to help asylum seekers, refugees and other disadvantage second language speakers with cultural integration, English language and literacy learning, wellbeing and women's and men's health. We work those supporting both adults and children / young people in a wide range of settings across the UK. We do some direct workshop delivery both online and to support the work of community organisations in Leicester, Loughborough and surrounding areas.
