Chiltern Music Therapy have a desire to change how music therapy is offered in the UK. With inclusivity at our heart, we work with all ages and levels of disability, with individuals and groups, across health, education, social care and community settings. Proud to be a self-managed and employee-owned social enterprise, we strive to create a world where music therapy is the transformative thread in the lives of everyone we support. Support for People Living with Sickle Cell & Thalassemia
The overall goal of the project is to empower and comfort the disadvantaged, needy and neglected children living with sickle cell disease (SCD) and other blood related disorders in the Leicestershire region with three main objectives:
The project is targeting one thousand (1000) children living with SCD in the Leicestershire region.
To change the perception of the community of Leicestershire about sickle cell disease and eliminate stigmatization and discrimination against the children living with the disease.
To address the psychosocial needs of families and children living with sickle cell disease (SCD) and provide hope and comfort
To provide health care (treatment), education, and basic support to children living with sickle cell disease (SCD) and their families in the East Midlands.
Using sports coaching and mentoring, Greenhouse Sports transforms the lives of children growing up in poverty. We place Coach-Mentors full-time into primary and secondary schools, in areas of high deprivation. Coach-Mentors deliver sports sessions before, during and after the school day, as well as weekends and holidays. Coaches deliver all sessions using the STEP framework. Designed and developed by Greenhouse over the last 20 years, to specifically develop their Social, Thinking, Emotional and Physical skills.
OUTpatients is the UK’s LGBTIQ+ cancer charity. Proudly patient-led, they exist to shake up the system, advocate for equity, and stand up for every LGBTIQ+ individual navigating the cancer journey. They host peer support, educate healthcare professionals, and help to shape national policy that supports the LGBTIQ+ community.
Reaching People is a ready-made consortium of local Voluntary and Community Sector organisations working across Leicester, Leicestershire, and Rutland aiming to:
- deliver significant, improved, and lasting impact and outcomes for local vulnerable people, and
-- enable the development and provision of high- quality interventions providing significant return on investment.
We facilitate integrated and partnership working across the VCSE and enable the coproduction of solutions to promote equality, alleviate poverty and reduce health inequalities.
We have a track-record of delivering innovative, high-quality solutions improving health & wellbeing, homelessness, access to information, advice and guidance, and learning and training.
For over a decade, The Prince's Trust has run courses to connect its pipeline of young talent (16-30 years old) into health and social care careers. In 2019, The Department of Health and Social Care, in collaboration with Health Education England, invested in scaling up the courses as part of its "widening participation" strategy. The Department gave The Prince's Trust a four-year grant to support 10,000 young, work-ready people from diverse backgrounds into jobs, helping organisations recruit a workforce reflective of the local community.
Affinity Trust is a registered charity and regulated by the Care Quality Commission. We support over 900 people with learning disabilities across England, enabling them to live as independently as possible. We support people with more complex needs including autism, mental health needs, and profound and multiple learning disabilities. We aim to ensure that those we support can live life to the full. Many of the people we support used to live in institutional settings, like hospitals. Supported living is our preferred model of support. We also deliver outreach, opportunities and residential services.
Citizens Advice Rutland is a local charity which provides free advice to meet the needs of our community. We’re here to help everyone who lives, works or studies in Rutland. We value diversity, promote equality and challenge discrimination.
Sunrise Wellbeing Partnership C.I.C. provides holistic, therapeutic services to children, young people and adults of all ages to support them with any difficulties they are facing which are affecting their mental health and overall wellbeing.The Wellbeing Therapy Centre, based in Anstey, Leicestershire, opened in July 2020 and supports people from Leicester, Leicestershire and beyond through face to face and online therapeutic support sessions, group workshops and professional development training.
Regul8 Mental Health & Well-being is a Community Interest Company (CIC) dedicated to promoting mental health and well-being among children, young people, and families in Leicestershire. It focuses on a range of services aimed at enhancing emotional awareness, self-regulation, and social-emotional learning for children and young people. Regul8 also supports the entire family dynamic, including parents and caregivers. Regul8 work in schools, homes and in the community through groups.
